"The Giving Tree Band, a folk-rock band from Illinois, claims that their next album will be the world’s first entirely ecological album"

What does it mean to be an environmentalist rock star, exactly ? For starters, they use instruments made exclusively from wood from naturally fallen trees, as opposed to trees that were cut down, they print their album booklets on recycled paper, and they tour on environmentally friendly tour buses.

The Giving Tree Band, a folk-rock band from Illinois, claims that their next album will be the world’s first entirely ecological album. Also, the band prefers playing for environmentally friendly festivals to traditional ones. Luckily, they are not alone in their quest to enlighten music fans about the importance of saving the planet. Radiohead recently refused to sing at Glastonbury. The reason? There was no mode of public transportation to get to the concert. They also use low-energy light bulbs and travel with less equipment when they tour.

The members of The Duhks are also sensitive to environmental issues. Not only are they all vegetarians, but they only travel on a bus that runs on clean fuel. They even went as far as writing the lyrics to their latest album exclusively with soy ink! These bands are some of the leaders of a growing trend in music that reminds fans that it’s okay to love music and the environment at the same time.
